What Laboratory Services Are Available On Site?
Our on-site Lancet collection point handles routine and specialised blood tests requested by our doctors. For investigations that require external equipment, such as ultrasounds, X-rays or DEXA scans, your doctor will coordinate a referral to the appropriate facility and follow up on the results with you once they are back. This keeps a single referral pathway running through your GP, rather than leaving you to manage several separate providers.
Who Is This Service For?
Anyone referred for blood work by one of our doctors can make use of the on-site collection point, whether that is a single test related to a current concern or regular monitoring for an ongoing condition that needs periodic review.
What Should You Do Before A Blood Test?
Some tests require fasting beforehand. Your doctor will tell you at the time of referral whether this applies to you, and for how long you should avoid eating or drinking anything other than water before your sample is taken.
What Happens On The Day Of Testing?
Sample collection is generally quick and straightforward. Our team will confirm your details, take the required sample and let you know roughly when to expect results, which vary depending on the specific test requested.
How Do You Receive Your Results?
Results are sent back to your referring doctor, who will discuss them with you at a follow-up consultation or reach out directly if anything requires prompt attention. You are never left to interpret a lab report alone or to work out what a number on a page actually means for you.
How Does This Support Ongoing Care?
For patients managing a chronic condition, regular blood tests are often part of keeping treatment on track. Having Lancet Laboratory services on site makes this kind of routine monitoring far less disruptive to fit into a busy week.
Medical Aid And Billing
Laboratory tests requested by our doctors are billed directly by Lancet according to your medical aid scheme's pathology benefit. Where a test is not covered, Lancet will advise you of any out-of-pocket cost before proceeding.
